NJ High School Diploma Testing/GED
Effective June 1, 2023, GED is the only approved test in New Jersey for New Jersey High School Diploma Testing. For more information about the GED Test, please visit: http://ged.com/ Beginning in January 2024, Camden County College is an approved Pearson Vue test site for GED Testing.
To take the GED Test you are required to create an account, schedule your test, and make payment through the GED website at www.ged.com Testing is by appointment only and no walk-ins can be accepted. If you are unable to find testing dates at Camden County College, please visit the GED website for information on other NJ Test Sites and Remote Testing.
There are four subtests that comprise the GED Test which are:
- Mathematical Reasoning: 115 minutes
- Reasoning Through Language Arts: 150 minutes
- Social Studies: 70 minutes
- Science: 90 minutes
Each subtest needs to be scheduled and paid for individually. You may schedule multiple subtests for the same day, but it is not possible to schedule all four for the same day.

If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must complete a NJ Consent to Participate Form that must be signed by you and a Parent/Guardian. Once this has been completed and GED has lifted the block, you can then register for a test session. Please contact the Testing Center at testing@barrett-tech.net or 856.227.7200 x4710 to set up an appointment to complete a Consent to Participate Form. Both the student and Parent/Guardian will need to show ID before signing the form with a CCC Testing Center representative.
Yes. If you take the GED in English, all four parts must be taken in English. If you take the GED in Spanish, all four parts must be taken in Spanish.
Please visit http://www.nj.gov/education/adulted/verification/ for information on when your diploma will be mailed to you. It is important to use your correct mailing address when registering on the GED website.
